This 25-gram bag of Ruby Red kandy Pearl Pigment powder is a great pigment for creating your very own tinted clears in custom paint or powder-coating applications. It’s guaranteed to mix well with any clear paints or tinted kandy paints, and has a temperature threshold of about 400 degrees Fahrenheit. It is a very fine powder and will spray well through airbrushes, powder guns, and HVLP paint guns. It is light, so it stays well mixed in paint without settling too fast in your gun, and can make great tinted clears for light to heavy effects (it’s your choice). One 25-gram bag of Ruby Red Kolor Pearls treats from 1 to 2 quarts of clear.
Our kandy pigments are quality metallic Iron Mica colored pigments that have their own iridescence built in. Mixtures of our kandy pigments will never be truly transparent due to the solid particles of mica and iron. You can still achieve a good degree of transparency from the kandy paint pigments, but you will achieve total coverage after several coats, being unable to see whatever is underneath. We suggest using about 1/2 of one of our bags per quart of base clear or intercoat clear. Using a full bag per quart would make a colored metallic pearl paint. You can use our kandy paint pearls to make your own Kolorshift Pearls pigments by mixing them with different ghost pearl paint pigments.
We have seen our kandy paint pigment used in many industries, including powder coating, plastic manufacturing, custom airbrush art, and gel coating. They work just as well for beginners as they do for professionals. Keep in mind that these candies will change the overall color of your project, and do not change color in the sun. We recommend using 1 bag per quart of sprayable clear for an opaque metallic-like paint. For a more translucent kandy type of paint, mix 1 bag to 2 quarts of sprayable clear.
